Under the ocean – Pop-up book

This gorgeous Pop-up book lives in the highest shelf of the bookcase in the kids room so my 2 year-old one doesn’t get his hands on it. I couldn’t see it broken, it is precious.

Under the ocean, by Anouck Boisrobert and Louis Rigaud is a wonderful, stunning pop-up book. The images says it all. Every page is a little world to discover. I’m very jealous that I’m not the designer of this book. The dream, to do a book like this one.

I bought it on the Tate Britain which it is WAY cheaper than Amazon. Check the price difference in those websites! Worthy the money though! A very very special present for the kids (or for you!)

Oliver Jeffers Exhibition

We spent the day at the Discover Children Centre in Stratford. The place is fantastic, it has a lot of inside and outside activities for the little one (under 6). We’ve never been there and the kids had a lot of fun. We went to the Story time session and all the room was beautifully decorated. After that in the main floor, there were lots of hand-on activities. The best part, there was an Oliver Jeffers Exhibition. It is on until September.

You have to buy ticekts, but its only £16 the family of 4, and I can’t recommend it more. They recreated all the scenes from “Lost and Found” and “How to catch a star” in kids size. The kids can dress up as “the boy” and have an adventure. It is lovely. I can’t believe I haven’t heard of it before.

I strongly recommend you to go at 11 am, when it opens, and take the tickets there on the desk if you haven’t book them before to avoid disappointment. And it seems that Sundays are quieter than Saturdays.  GO GO don’t miss it.

Meg on the moon/ at sea/ many other stories

I recently discovered these gorgeous books by Helen Nicoll and Jan Pienkowski. The stories are about a witch and her cat. They are colourful, fun, crazy story lines and even weird I can say. That is why I like them so much. I thought they were new, because of their modern, simply and bright illustrations, and then I discovered that they were written more than 30 years ago. If you don’t know about them, go to the local library and get a copy, I’m sure they will have them there. Extremely enjoyable.

Reasons my kid is crying

I got this amazing book Reasons my kid is crying as a Christmas present, one of the best books I’ve ever read. So you think that your child is making unreasonable demands that you can’t even begin to comprehend? You are not alone my dear, welcome to the bonkers world of being a parent. This book, compiled by Greg Pembroke, shows us the ridiculous reasons why your son or daughter cry as if the world is ending. There is a blog as well where parents send funny pictures, or you can get the book on Amazon. Worth every cent.

My big shouting day

I bought this book for my son’s birthday. It’s just great! The girl had such a bad day and had tantrums about absolutely everything, which made me laugh. I guess children can learn that they can have a bad day sometimes as well. I really recommend this book. Actually, it won an award “WINNER OF THE ROALD DAHL FUNNY PRIZE 2012”.
You can find it on Amazon here

Emilio In The Snow – new release

Brrrrrr, it’s been a cold few weeks. Perfect time to release our winter’s tale.

“Emilio In The Snow” is a short, sweet tale about the wonder of snow as our little hero  meets the cold powdery stuff for the first time.

No matter how young or old, there’s something magic about taking each footstep in new snow, seeing it settle on trees and cars, and (if we get enough if it) to roll snowballs into snowmen and women.

Share this with small children over the winter holidays into Christmas and New Year.

The Museum of Childhood – London

The Museum of Childhood is an adorable option to take your kids. It is in London, near Bethnal Green Station.
Firstly it is free. Secondly you can find any imaginable toy there, the museum is 3 floors up and it is full of toys. It is like Paradise.
Theres a lot of interactive games for kids as well, great entertainment.

You can see almost everything with nostalgia, things that we used to play with when we were kids are there behind glass. Last time I discovered one little train that my mum gave me when I was a child with discs of music in the back, I almost cried. I really want to take my parents there. Loads of memories.
There are a lot of activities as well to participate in and catch the attention of the little ones, we know that sometimes it is a difficult task to achieve

What was your favourite toy when you were a kid?
